In its commitment to water saving and environmental sustainability, LotusTeX has assigned Engicon O&M with the design, financing, construction, and operation of its Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant and Water Reuse System. The IWTP capacity is 2500 m3/day, designed to produce high-purity water to be reused in the industrial process of denim production. The IWTP consists of a state-of- the-art Electro-coagulation unit alongside the chemical-physical treatment unit for color and heavy metal removal. Additionally, it includes dual Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) Systems, Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) combining membrane processes with biological wastewater treatment, and a three-stage reverse osmosis unit to recover as much water as possible. The IWTP also includes a sludge thickener, filter press, and solar greenhouse to dry the generated sludge from the dyes, thus complying with Egyptian regulations and standards.
